I'm currently crunching for Team Ars Technica Lamp Chop. Not necessarily because that is the best team available out there - there's a lot of really good teams available - but because I got sucked in by the excellent forums. Please check them out. There's a lot of nice information available.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
What can I say. Space is large :-) While I think it's more likely that someone else finds us, I don't think we should just roll our thumbs and wait.

While S@H has had a lot of problems with lack of human, machine and network resources, I think that it has been an important stepping stone for a lot of other distributed projects.

It is quite interesting to see the dynamics of the active members. While some users are proud of reaching their first 100 returned results, some other users complains about failing to reach 100 wu/day. I think it's more important to participate and do ones best, than to blindly stare at production and who have been overtaken in the statistics. By the way - anyone care for a race to 20k :-)

To everyone reading this: Thanks for your participation. When S@H 1 is over, we might possibly meet in another project somewhere. The world is a lot smaller than we like to think. In case you change your signature, please drop a mail, so I may recognize you.
