Personal background
69 yo: /Retired & Retarded/ since turning 50. Used to be in Hardware & Software programing and maintenance. ??? Hobbies ??? proving to the G'kids that I am indeed Retarded by choice; and Retired enough to be still enjoying life by staying ahead of the 'inquiring minds' that demand a complete and thorough explanation of things that happen. Using the 6-W's of inquiry, I can let them find their own way. Oh, those 6-W's, they are Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. No, I did NOT say that they all begin with "W", but those who discover that catch are usually firmly on their way towards discovery of self and environment.

Emigrated to the USA in 1969, picked up a BS in Economics (Benedict College, SC 1973) and a pair of MS degrees from USC (California not South Carolina) in Systems Management and Public Administration.

RETIREMENT IS GREAT !!! I would highly recommend it for all who want to live a full life.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Knowing full well that computers are tremendously under-utilized, even as I cogitate upon these lofty views to be posted here, I decided that I might as well make 'better' use of my resources by donating time to SETI @ Home and related explorations into the vast unknowns.

Yes, mankind's future is in space ... so, we would be well served by exploring and learning about this space to improve our survivability when we do venture into THAT space.
