| I contribute to SETI@Home because I want to live to see the day that the human race receives that one signal that undoubtedly came from another civilization. I can only hope that I will live to see the day that we respond to that signal. Unfortunately, because our technology is most likely still far too primitive to even detect, let alone achieve contact with another hopefully more intelligent civilization, it may be hundreds of years, probably thousands, before that happens. Of course, we could also never accomplish this goal. |
