Personal background
I'm an amature scientist and inventor, though I have yet to come up with anything good. The inflatable pants idea was one of the worst. Anyway, I have somewhat of an engineering background and hope to use it to construct my own radio observitory. The more sites to search and verify, the beter chance we have to find something. Perhaps one day we will find something out there.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I find it difficult to believe that with the wide varity of life on Earth that it's the only life in the universe. I'm sure that life exists out there, even if it's just bacteria.
Sending a beacon might be a good idea, though I have no idea what to send that's likely to be universally understood. Just a thought, do we really want our early radio and teleision broadcasts to be our formal greeting?
