| My favorite movie is "Contact." I love to read the Bible, books on history, historical novels, and science fiction (not the scary kind) like the the "Foundation" (series) by Isaac Asamov and the entire "Dune" series. I fix computers at a liberal arts college for a living. Besides my love of the stars and reading, I love to sing in my church choir, play the guitar, quilt the old fashioned way, travel with my husband and play with my 4 grandchildren - not necessarily in that order. I'd rather be farming. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I definitely believe extraterrestrial life exists and not just microbes on some too distant planet. I think it will be a long time before we are able to contact other civilizations, however. But the process will keep us excited and constantly reinventing ourselves. Walking across the street is dangerous; so why should we be worried about contacting another civilization?
The reason I run BOINC/Seti@Home is because I love being part of the process to help find another civilization. I think the project is worthwhile enough to donate money, which I have. |
