Personal background
Hey,

My wife and I are early fifties and live in the woods on a river north of Indianapolis.

I am a systems programmer supporting medium and large scale IBM mainframe datacenters, something I've been doing for over 25 years. We're the weird guys who install and support the operating system and a whole plethora of sub-systems on these machines. Currently, I use these skills as a consultant, primarily in the midwest.

Lin, my wife of six years, is an independent real estate appraiser and the most lovable woman in the world. She is one of few women I know capable of putting up with the frequent "weirdness" of a mainframe systems programmer. Hmmm, I wonder if it has anything to do with how well her computer system works?

I remember having breakfast with her one morning not long after we met. I asked her what kinds of things she liked to receive as little surprises (expecting to hear about earrings and favorite perfumes, of course). Instead, her eyes lit up and she said "power tools, and I would just love a gas powered weed eater". I knew it was a match made in heaven.

Together, we enjoy working around the house, which is a good thing when you live on the river. We're also into reading, photography, flying sport kites, riding our tandem bike, and the Indiana Pacers.

I enjoy woodworking (ahhh, power tools guys), golf, the Colts, and heaping verbal abuse on our two cats, PC and FM (that's Problem Child and Furry Mammal (although Lin insists on calling her Effie)).

My wife enjoys gardening, arts and crafts, and baking. She makes a world class chocolate brownie and the greatest cookies on the planet...and she has her own chainsaw ;-)

I'll fill this in later after I learn more about what you're doing.
