Personal background
I have been working in the IT industry as an educator for over 20 years.

My particular interest at the moment is PC hardware, why it breaks and how to fix it.

I am currently working for a large computer manufacturer as a project manager, working on an education project to develop new methods of delivering information to those who need it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I came across SETI through a friend and co-worker, who was running it on his PC.

I was fascinated by the idea that many thousands of processors could be linked on a common task and decided to commit myself to running it. My wife liked the screen saver and asked me to install it on her PC. We now have five PCs contributing resources to the search.

I'm convinced that we're not alone in the universe but I don't know if we'll see any 'contact' in my lifetime. However, if we don't look for it, we will never find it! Why would ET seek us out?

Through this project, I can make a small contribution to a massive project.
