Personal background
I'm a residential real estate appraiser from Detroit that now resides in Kalamazoo. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a BBA (finance major, sociology minor) last April, took a week off, then started right in with the career. I like playing basketball (I'm terrible, but I love playing) and scratching vinyl (LOVE it, and I've been told I'm pretty good) in my free time.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
How pompous it is to think we could be the only randomly created sentient life in this universe. The universe is too big to think that only once, in one place could intelligent life evolve as it has here. I'm somewhat fearful of our initial contact with alien life. Our scientists can't figure out why some whales SING, for crying out loud. They (the whales) live on our planet, and we dont' know why they do what they do. How could we possibly expect to even begin comprehending the motivations of intelligent creatures from another planet?

SETI is a great project. The way I figure it, if we can determine where they'll come from, we can watch and maybe see them coming....
