Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The probability of extraterrestrial intelligent life existing somewhere in space and time is to be considered as high.
On the contrary, the probability of finding traces of intelligent life which is communicating throughout space by means the SETI project is able to intercept is to be considered as relatively low: finding a needle in the haystack is truly fairly probable compared to finding patterns of intelligent origin within the interstellar signals concerto, especially considering first the universe being a very large haystack indeed and second the thin slice of which we humans only examine. Nevertheless it's worth a try.
