| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists, it's statistical idiocy to believe otherwise. When I look into the night sky from my home in Upper Michigan, all I see are billions and billions of potential homes for other races of life. When that many places exist with the possibility of producing a unique sequence of events responsible for the emergence of life, how can we possibly still be so vain as to insist we are the only ones?
It is in an effort to combat this vanity that I am doing my infintesimal part for SETI. I realize that with the current human state of affairs, and mindsets, such extrovertive efforts will not recieve monetary support substantial enough to exist on. So here I am, doing my small part, because I can. |
