Profile: Porcupine Tree

Personal background
Hi,
I'm a 45 year old Database Administrator for a large American Automobile Association. I like to dabble a bit in amateur astronomy, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Porcupine Tree collecting, and WWII rifles.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Seti...well, it's a real long shot. There are truly an infinite amount of points in space where a signal can originate from, multiplied buy the number of methods that a signal can be transmitted. We try to make logical sense based upon our perceptions of observation and current knowledge of science to guess at the method of conveyance of a signal, let's just hope others out there perceive and think the same way we do.
However, I think that the effort is worth while, especially since the workload can be split amongst volunteers who are willing to absorb the cost themselves. Chances are, if you don't look for something - you won't find it.

Listen To Porcupine Tree and expand your musical horizons.
