Personal background
My name is Joe. I'm a die hard hillbilly from West Virginia. Not part of Virginia we have been a state since 1863. My parents took me to Green Bank West Virgina to see the Radio Telescopes as kid. I was disapointed that you could not look through them to see the stars. I only heard the telescope part and was not very happy with the visit. But I was only 5 at the time. Now I'm 33 and I want to go back and take my son now. I think I will like it more than him but I still remember the trip, and the more I think about it the more I have realized that the trip started my thurst for Science. I hope to start that same desire in my son. I don't think it will be very hard. His favorite word is why. So I'm sure that he will love the trip more than I did at the same age. I just did not understand how you could see a star with radio. My parents could not explain it to me. But as I grew older I understood what was going on at Green Bank. So a big thanks to Mom and Dad for taking me there.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that life does exist else where in the universe. Personaly I think that we will find life in this solarsystem fist. But I have never seen a UFO or anything like that. But I will keep looking and I think that the SETI project is worth keeping active. I know that it is far fetched but then again so was flight 100 years ago.
