Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Simple really. Anyone with a moderate mind can crunch some numbers and determine that it is unlikeley we are alone. What we don't know is who else is there and where are they? Humans, being little brains, will have a extremely difficult time finding anyone from outside out solar system unless they want to make contact.

If I was them, and saw what I see on the news, I'd steer clear of us. We are a dangerous breed. But with cooperation amoung us, some very bright people (for our breed) and some luck we may find the signal flag. A signal flag is most likely as good as its going to get in my lifetime, but we must start somewhere.
