Personal background
I'm originally from Pennsylvania but now have lived for the past two years in Washington state.I'll be 46 y/o on september 12th of this year.I'm a single Dad who enjoys raising my two youngest children here with me and supporting my oldest son who lives with his Mom and goes to college in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.I currently work as a production welder/assembler for an international corporation in Oregon. My youngest son and daughter enjoy going on trips with me to the coast and hiking in and around the Washington/Oregon area or fishing in some of the many streams and rivers. We have come to love the Pacific NorthWest and all the varieties of things it has to offer.I hope to instill in them a great love for nature and to teach them to help preserve all its wonderful things for the enjoyment off thier children and all others.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there are many other types of extra-terrestrial life through the galaxy and in the cosmos and I hope someday to still be around when it is discovered.I take two outlooks on what might be found, the first type we may find might possibly be of greater intelligence than ours and could hopefully give us greater knowledge in our technology and our lives. The second type of intelligence we may possibly find could be one of lesser intelligence to ours and would help us to come to an understanding of how we may better ourselves so that we may help them along in the future.I dont believe we are alone in the universe and cant accept the fact that we may be alone.I hope that there will be more work done to help discover life outside our solar system and that we may somhow increase efforts to discover it.I support sending a beacon for the purpose of contacting others but I believe we should let a group decide what information should be sent.I run SETI@home in the hopes that other intelligences may be found sooner.I would like to know if anything can be done to let the private people running the SETI programs know if they have been instrumental in finding some of the unknown spikes that have been detected or if a list of them may be published. Also ,if possible could some of the inportant info that has been discovered be published for those of us to see.
