Personal background
I am a Network Administrator for a large Oilfield Services company. I get to play with computers and develop web applications at work.
Then I go home and play with computers and develop web applications for my website
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am certain that life exists elsewhere in the universe. Whether it is intelligent enough life to transmit a signal, is another story. The chances of successfully finding a signal in the timeframe and frequencies that we are observing are so infinitesimally small as to almost not warrant investigation.


However, if a signal is detected and confiremed to be extra-terrestrial in origin, that would be a defining moment for mankind. We could move beyond our petty arguments and see a much larger existence that we are all a part of . . .



Or, more likely, we would let the discussion devolve into a quandary of endless bickering as to what the signal mans, or what the exact translation of the signal should be, or whether a fork is truly better than a spoon.



Either way, I'd be happy.



Because I'm flexible that way.
