| Personal background |
I was born in 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, three days after Yuri Gagarin became the first human to orbit the Earth in the Vostok 1 and named Darin' Yuri in his honour. It's no surprise that I have always loved anything to do with space; Science Fiction, Astronomy, SETI,...
I graduate with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1984 and immediately started working in the faculty's Laser Laboratory where I got to play with REAL lasers! Eventually we developed a new type of laser and the patents were purchased, resulting in my relocation to the United States.
I've been here ever since and have helped to introduce new medical devices in New Jersey, California and Massachusetts.
My hobbies include: computers, computer gaming and volleyball. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
| I run SETI@home because it combines two of my favorite things, computers and space, and I think the project is the perfect way to let the average person help with the search for extraterestrials. I look forward to the day the world gets introduced to our neighbours and I know mankind will never be the same. |
