Personal background
I am originally from South Carolina but after 20 years with the United States Navy, retired as of 31 January 2002, I consider myself to be from about everywhere. I have seen things most individuals only read about. I enjoy outdoor activities, and good people. I love to visit countries and experience new cultures. Once you put aside preconceptions and simply get down to individuals we are all the same.

My profession in the Navy was in computers and had to develop an open mind and a logical thought process to survive. If nothing else computers will always give you a dose of humble when trying to figure out a problem. You have to break it down to simple tasks. Just like life, break it down to the basics and it starts to work better.

It is with this attitude that I contribute my computer time to SETI. Only someone who thinks the world is still flat can think we are all alone here in the universe.

Keep up the faith,
Sandy
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
First, life is out there. It is only a matter of time and will take the courage to except that we are not alone that will allow us to find life within the stars. Stupidity and thought similar to the "Flat Earth" from years ago will only slow down what has to be inevitable.

We as humans not only should continue to search but we have an obligation to find out as much as possible about the universe and the individuals/creatures that live within it.

I run SETI@home to further my previous statements. I salute them and all their outstanding work and wish us all success. Keep up the good work.

Sandy
