I'll say I'm in my late 40's. Work consists of network/system admin and user support along with a healthy dose of programming. Various task unique programs and backend website development.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would say that I lean towards believing in ET's, although I believe it will be them doing the discovering. Sending a beacon shows our attempt to communicate with others rather than sitting silently 'waiting' to see what evolves.
I have a number of LINUX servers sitting around for various troubleshooting diagnostic configurations and thought I could put them to good use by processing SETI units.
I am one of those who unfortunately stopped processing units for a fairly lengthy time and changed ISP's in the meantime. So I have to leave the existing 1453 results sitting in limbo, but I'm back to processing now and building on another account. (Not large numbers by any means -- but it was something towards my contribution to the project...)
