Personal background

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Too big a pot for humans to be the only duck in the soup. We will likely be discovered by 'them' first (ala First Contact). Our best hope is to be found by the Vulcan's rather than the Klingons (or the equivalent of those two respectively).

2. I don't see why not... if we are going to be over-run, they'll find us eventually, and if not, it'll help the 'benevolent' ones find us easier. Too cliche, but 'we come in peace' sounds good to me.

3. I think something/someone is out there. I believe in the project, and I can think of nothing better to do with spare compute-cycles. Started with the project just over a year ago, but have upgraded systems 3 times since then. And, yes, ALL those systems are still crunching the numbers.
