Personal background
I've studied telecommunications. So communication is a big part of my life. I think that if there is intelligent life out there it will also communicate. So SETI is an idea that matches very well my thoughts about life in space.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes. Something is out there. But we can find it only if we start looking for it. I think a better question would be if an extra terestrial lifeform will count us as an intelligent lifeform.

2. I'm not sure. But as humans are already beaconing out to space, why don't we send an better information then Oprah Winfrey?

3. When I come home I'm to lazy to boot my PC. So it runs all day long. And as he's running he can to something usefull.
