Why do you run SETI@home?
1. i love Sience Projekts, because iam not be able to work in that way, and i love Projekts for Humankinds benefit so iam here to give a helping hand :)
What are your views about the project?
Seti@home hm iam not shure if we seek the right Signals !
A civilisation on our state of technology we maybe could find that way,
if the signal is not disturbed by cosmic catastrophic Events...
but a higher Civilisation then we are now,
wich uses much more modern Communikation ways,
i dont think we can find if we use our knowlege of technics...
Its more like a native wich knows how to send and recive Messages with a blanket and smoke, hoping to gasp a Handycall.
And with all the effort, we put into scrambling messages for security, and growing efforts in electronics, the way we can deciper messages ist changing fast, we today can read old storys of Egyptian People, but only because we know how they had spoken.
But we cant read old computer Messages from East Germanys DDR Computers, alot of whisdom we today have is bound to the technolgy wich it is written dwon,
I personaly think with all the Technology today,
most people wo had now the power to deciper it, wouldnt still be able to deciper Drakes Message, even today.
And if there is no Ground Base wich every Technology uses, both may be watching hearing sending, but both will see nothing, becaus the basic of the technology and Coding is to different.
The Singals we find from far bejond Earth, the wow and What Signals so far are all Cosmic Events, do we ever check this wow signal place today for maybe its sending again? somedays i think its like us!
We send a short message in one direktion just in hope someone with our state of technology is there, to hear it, but to leave an imprint u dont have to do it one time, and with all the millions of Suns its nearly impossible to hit the right spot and that over centurys, but maybe the Kepler teleskope offers some interesting places to look at...
what if some signals were realy a message and we just came to late, and the aliens do the same we did, turn the antenna and listen send to annother space, they know there was something but they wont never hear again, and u can never be shure when is the moment someone starts listening, u only know the singal take XXX years to arrive, if not scrambled by some cosmic influence.....
its the same with the modern Antenna technology, in the old days of Drake, people only knwo terrestical TV wich was send and get by Antennas wich listen in every direktion, todays antennas only listen to a fixed point in Space, one direction...
the problem is to search for Aliens u have to record every Band of Freqenzy from everywere just in Time online for Many many years..and more, and even the Radio Telescope from Seti, is bound by its Earthly limits...
Any suggestions?
i leave this unchanged, very funny most of it became real today.
