Born July 03, 1942. Semi-retired business owner. From Texas, now living in Louisiana. Active Ham Radio Operator W5QWX. Interested in computers both hardware and software. Tinker with optical telescopes and also home built radio telescopes. Very interested in Seti. Have limited education, BSEE 1968.
Served in the USAF from 1959-1964.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Like many others, it is hard to imagine we are the only living creatures in such a large universe, then again it is possible. If extraterrestrial life does exist, I think we'll discover it more likely, due to their efforts than ours.
Any such discovery would have a profound impact on the world. It would cause a re-thinking of our importance, if any, in the universe. I see no danger in discovering, we are not alone.
