Personal background
I am a computer science student just graduated from University of Bristol, UK, and I am a geek. My hobbies include building computers, tweaking computers, and breaking computers.
I like to sleep during daytime when the sun is out and get up at night when the internet connection cost is cheaper and the rate is faster. I haven't stepped outside for 13 years. I tend to forget about eating and bathing.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@home becomming a part of my life - I upgrade my PC so I can run S@H a few minutes faster, I overclock the CPU and RAM here and there to gain another few minute. I started buying lots of cheap old 486 PC from eBay so I can have a fleet of them crunching SETI all the time. I got Cable modem last month so I can upload workunits as fast as possible. I logged into university's workstations so I can install S@H services and cron jobs so I can get few more WUs out a day - and get banned from the network. I remember the date when I uploaded my first WU, the birthday of my partents slipped my mind though.
If we find ET may be they will teach us how to built super fast CPUs and giant heatsinks so I can overclock it and finish a WU in like 1 minute. The danger of finding ET is I won't need to process WUs anymore and I won't know what to do with my existence and the 100000 486 computers that I have.
