Personal background
Andy Cunningham is a loving nurturer who enjoys long space flights with the Zargons, peering through telescopes at distant pulsars, and perfecting intergalactic transmission methods.

OK, I'm a big dork who lives in Indiana. I am a graphic designer by trade, but I have sequestered about 5 machines at work and two at home for SETI purposes. Just hit my 250 workunit milestone! Yippee!

Oh, and I only use Macs. And yes, we are a cult.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI is intriguing for a host of reasons. First, it would be super cool to find E.T. and collect all of the fame and riches that would accompany such a discovery :)

Just kidding! I'm not in this for the perks, because it's highly possible that we will never find anything at all, or that it might take thousands of years! Mostly, it's a way to keep the dusty old boxes at work running, and to appear intelligent and thoughtful to my coworkers, when in reality I am as dull and addled as a box of rocks. Heh.

OK, I don't know why I do SETI. But I do. And maybe it'll pay off someday... perhaps it'll improve my karma...
