Profile: Mike Rechtien

Personal background
I'm a computer technician. Have been tinkering with computers since High School, but have had an official tech job since Jan of '93. Being agnostic, I'm pretty sure *something* is out there, and I'd like to be involved in finding out who and/or what that is. I enjoy watching many of the programs on the various Discovery channels (through Dish Network, there are somewhere around 6-8 channels). I like watching movies (action, comedy, etc). I also like listening to music. I usually listen to "Top 40" (which was mostly pop music) but lately have been getting into some Alternative Rock/Punk/Whatever type music (as defined by me as being a dummer, 2 or more guitar guys, and a singer). I like bowling and playing softball. Other sports don't realy interest me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I am interested in what could be out there. I think that this universe is just too large for it to be only us. I don't know a whole lot about astronomy, but I figure that this is the best way I can donate to helping find what may be out there, being as I lack the monetary funds to donate to a project such as this.
