I am a thinker (or day dreamer) from my primary school years. I have a maths and physics degree and a keen interest in astronomy. I work with computers in my day job, read the Bible at night and love my family.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Here is an interesting thought that others must have come up with: As planetary systems are being discovered quite close to us (within 40 light years) why don't we intensify our SETI searches to these locations?
Astronomical distances are so vast, the chances of contacting other people are very slim. Meeting them are even slimmer. We would have the same chance as meeting a dinosoar as we are separated from them only by time, not space. Other people are separated from us in both time and space. Timothy Leary had the right idea - thinking is the best way to travel.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
