I teach physics at Cal Poly Pomona, a California State University. I consider myself to be a "generalist" and enjoy teaching all areas of the undergraduate physics curriculum.
In the winter I like to get in a few days of skiing and in the summer I cool off on Whidbey Island and relax while catching and smoking salmon.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am an agnostic on the topic of ET life. I hope there is ET intelligence (if only as a much needed supplement to that found on Earth!) I run SETI@home because I need a screen saver and I like being able to put the wasted duty cycles to work.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
