Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I run the SETI@home software, because I might as well put unused Processor Cycles to good use

2) I think the project is a good use of distributed processing, and by networking computers across the globe, large amounts of data can be processed effectively. And besides, what the hell, we're not using our computers all the time. Give them a good workout

3) Suggestions: There are a large number of modified XBOX consoles in existance. Each console is a Celeron 733MHZ with 64 megs of ram. Most of these modified XBOXs are connected to the internet. A version of the SETI@home project, compiled for the xbox (Using either the Microsoft XboxSDK, or an open source version) would tap into a significant amount of processor power which would otherwise be wasted...quite a few consoles are left running 24hours a day.
