Personal background
Hi, I’m an 26 year-old computer engineer based in the UK I discovered SETI at Home when I decided to quit out of the RC5 project. Rather than keep my computer sitting idle I had done a quick web search and SETI at home was the first useful project I came across.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, Odds are that some other forms of life are out there 2. It doesn’t matter, we humans have been sending out signals since the birth of radio, I’m sure someone or something will receive a stray signal eventually. As for a dedicated signal, I think it should be a repeating pattern that can be easily distinguished from background noise. 3. To keep my system busy when I’m not using it and to find another form of life.
