Personal background
name: Tom Claessens
nick: scarmind, modular
location: Antwerp, Belgium
occupation: Student graphical design

Most of the time I spent behind my computer listening to music (autechre, dosc, aphex twin) or working on a design (poster, flyer, web, ...)

Besides my box, I also like to go out and have a great evening / night with my girlfriend, Kim.

Last but not least: Snowboarding rules!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

as far as ETL, I'm not sure. It would be very strange if Earth was the only planet in the universe where all the conditions are perfect to have life. Only the future can tell whether ETL exists or not.
Benefits could be that we find a more modernised and smarter organism. We can learn a lot about them.
On the other side, if you get across land that belongs to the wrong kind of life form, we can yes indeed get into trouble.. but just don't think about it ;)

hell yeah! We should submit beacons so other life sources can pick up and start searching for us too :o)
What to send .. I don't know. Maybe 'jailhouse rock' ? ;)

A lot of my friends told me I should join the program a year ago I think. As with everything, I refused until now. Why now? I don't know. I was bored and had to check it out :)
