Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Well, yeh. It'd be arrogant of the Human Race to think that with all the billions of stars and planets out there that ours was the only one capable of sustaining life and actually having sentient beings on it!
2. Yes, it'd have to be in a language that I believe everyone would understand, so either binary mathematics or music! It should be basic information to begin with ie. location and some basic biological information with a rudimentary scientific/historical information packet included.
3. I have an urge to make "First Contact" (pardon the pun!). The project is a great idea and I wish I had one computer to dedicate 100% processing time to the project but I don't!
