Personal background
18 year old male from lakeland, florida. born and bred in south louisiana with stops in alaska and brandon, florida. starting college in fall 2002. my interests include music (blues), computers, hockey, etc. i saw the information about seti@home at the message board for trillian (http://trillian.cc) and decided id help out. i currently have two computers in my minilan. a 1ghz athlon which i am using right now and a 350mhz that goes relatively unused except when im ripping audio cds or testing divx movies for flaws and whatnot, so i decided id dedicate it to seti most of the time. space has always been a mild interest of mine and it seems cool to help out if i can.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, definetly. I have no doubts in my mind that there is life in the universe on planets other than Earth. Furthermore, i think its arrogant to think there arent other life forms out there. The question of when is a question mark in itself. Even if we do, it will take a long time to get together the resources for a mission to visit this planet, wherever it may be.

2. Perhaps, but the chances of an alien race figuring out our language is slim. good example of that is the navaho code talkers in ww2 =p

3. to aid the search for extraterrestrial life, i dont use the 2nd computer that much so why not? ;)
