| I am a 62 year old industrial electrician and live in a wooded area in lakeport, Michigan, about a half mile west of lake Huron. My hobby is amateur radio call letters K8ZY. I have three computers dedicated to SETI, all home built. If I had more time I would try radio astronomy, I would suggest amateur astronomers use the name RAMSES,(radio amateur search for extraterrestial signals) because historically Ramses was the son of Seti in egypyian history. |

Of course I believe extraterrestial life exists, it's only a question of what form it is in. They could be "plasmoids" living in the center of stars, entirely magnetic in structure! Of course we could never have a physical interface with them but we could exchange ideas and philosophy.
Once while living in the mountains near Payson Az. I saw what I believe was a UFO. My house was high on a ridge and I was reading my sunday paper when a flicker in the corner of my eye caught my attention, I saw what at first looked like a paper caught spinning in a thermal updraft but when I grabbed my binoculars I saw a disc shaped spinning object that promptly sped up and out of sight. It was only about 6 ft in diameter, I could tell because it was below the horizon and the town below was a backdrop.
I am extremely reluctant to support any beacons, however, because we may be viewed as nothing more than vermin by highly advanced cultures and an antimatter torpedo could be dispatched into our sun as an extermination measure! Also, although we may think we are sending our most sophicated intelligent sounding beacon they will hear "me tarzan, you E.T.!" I run SETI because it supplies a certain degree of satisfaction knowing I could be a part of the biggest discovery of the twenty first century, Alien life!
I suggest our "theme song" be "somewhere out there" because the words seem to have a relavence to our project. |
