Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is probable -- although maybe not highly so -- that extraterrestrial life exists. When it will be discovered is a matter for speculation only, not amenable to rational analysis.
Humans should definitely send beacons. Information should be of the most readily understandable kind; details remain to be decided.
I run SETI@home because I want to make a contribution to this enormous and significant scientific project.
