Personal background
I live outside a very small town called Gretna,in the state of Virginia. I am far enough from anything, that late on a fairly clear night you can actually see bands of the milky way form my yard. It is an excellent place to watch for comets, and meteors. My major occupations have involved broadcast communications, such as TV,and Radio stations. My biggest hobby is learning as much as I can, about as much as I can. I believe that God made a very beautiful universe, and I love to explore it as mush as I can. I am a 45 year old male, and I really like the idea of this project. The date is 9-23-01,and I will use the screensaver as much as possible. Thank you very much for the opportunity to be a prt of this project.By the way,I think it's fun too.

Thanks Again,
Daniel W. Beasley
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe very much that extraterrestial life exists. I also believe that any such life form may well be extradimension as well. I believe that it will be discovered whenever God is ready to reveal to whoever he chooses. Both the benefits and the dangers are far to many to count. There are to many people who would use such knowlege for their own power. I see no reason not to send a beacon out for others to find with whatever information we care to send. If some receives the beacon, they will probably be more advanced than we are anyway, and we could possibly learn a lot if we are careful.I run SETI@home to be part of the experience, however small a part that is.In my view the project is worth doing even if nothing happens in our life time, because if we think the possibility is there and we do nothing,we insult or own intelligence.Haven't worked with the project enough yet to make any suggestions, except keep on going.

Thanks,Daniel
