Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Re-joining the SETI project from a few years back - interested to know how its going and if regular transmissions are being detected that are not binaries etc.

20 million light years away (the nearest possible lifeforms I understand) is a long way - but one never knows. An advanced technology spacecraft from such distances could just possibly be traveliing this way?!

The greatest danger in humans discovering such life could well be FEAR I think; affecting everyone on planet Earth. This would lead to heavens knows what.

Benefits in technology knowledge exchange would be anticipated.

I don't think we should make any more noise in the Universe than we are doing at the moment. If any other life is out there then it will probably find us.

I believe that the Star Trek model has an excellent basic of 'non interference'
with 'lesser' civilisations. A federation of planets is a fine idea as well but I am not sure that our technology would ever aspire to such
