Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that we cannot be the only life in the universe, but possibly the only human form of life. I belief their may be benefits of discovering more advanced forms, but could be disadvantages in meeting possible lesser forms of life.

I believe that we should transmit beacons of varying high and low frquencies.

I run SETI@home to help those who spend their time searching for the unknown, it is a fascinating and worthwhile project.
