Personal background
Giday

I live in New Zealand & have always had a interest in SETI. Although my knowledge is limited, I always beleived in \\"We\\'re not alone\\" before I found out about SETI. I found SETI after seeing the Jodie Foster Movie \\"Contact\\".

I\\'m a married male and work in the Trucking Freight Industry.

I\\'m a very sporting person having played top level Soccer for over 20 years, Raced Go Karts, competed in Cycling (Road & Track), Refereed Soccer & now play competetive 10 pin Bowling.

Some of my Hobbies include Computers, Pokemon, Harry Potter Trading Card Games (TCG), Kitset Models, Collecting Coins & Unusual Keychains.

My main interest over the last 5 years was the Pokemon Trading card Game. During that time, i created Pokemon New Zealand, which at it\\'s peak, ran leagues & tournaments for over 100 players on a weekly basis.

Unfortunately, lack of support from the local distributor has forced me out of it.

Hopefully SETI at Home will allow me to fulfil a dream of being alive when contact is finally achieved.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes ET lives. As for how contact will be made, well that could come in many forms ... SETI getting a signal, they visit, we find them (like a Radio or TV signal) or any other form I can\\'t think of at the moment :)

Yes I think we should be sending a signal out into space. As with life here on earth, if we don\\'t try to contact others, we stagnate in the enviroment we\\'re in. Outside contact allows for different ideas & processes to be seen & tried, therefore allowing growth in new directions.

SETI at Home has allowed myself to aid in the search for other life off this planet.
