Personal background
I grew up in a small town outside of Columbus, Ohio. At an early age I wanted to become an astronaut and for my 10th birthday, my parents took me to an observatory to watch the stars. I still have my first telescope and use it to look at the craters on the moon.

I enjoy reading Star Trek and other Sci-fi books and love working with computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I find it hard to believe that God would create such a large place and only have 1 planet supporting life. Given enough time and persistence, I believe that CNN (or whoever is the reigning news outlet) will have a newsflash indicating that Seti@Home (or its follow-on) did indeed find creditable indications of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.

Humans are explorers, always asking questions. I run Seti@Home to do my part of the analysis contributing to the overall effort. My computer is idle most of the time so I'd might as well make use of unused CPU cycles. (AMD Duron 700 w/384M RAM)

My question for Seti@Home:
Is there an easy way to find out if any of the workunits my machines have processed are of interest?
