Profile: Greg Eckert

Personal background
My name is Greg Eckert, and I have been running and participating in the SETI@Home project for a very long time. I worked with Dan back in the Pentium III days, providing some computers, network designs, and some of the first optimizations to the SETI@Home core. These days I am the Director of IT and Lead Instructor at Canyon State Institute in Phoenix, AZ.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Originally I started running it as part of a project between Intel (whom I worked for) and Berkeley to optimize the client for the Intel Pentium III processor. Since then I have wokred here and there on it, and maintained a fair number of systems running it as well.
