Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
I am in no doubt that extraterrestrial life exists, whatever 'extraterrestrial' means :o)

If so, when and how will humans discover it?
I am sure we have always experienced various degrees of contact with many forms of life other than our own.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Probably won't 'happen' until it's not about benefits and dangers :o)
What? Other than flying saucers and enough knowledge to completely destroy ourselves ...?

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
Of course, but it should never be out of reach, even if remotely.

If so, what information should we send?
As much as will fit. The truth.

Why do you run SETI@home?
Use idle processor cycles and maybe speed up the process...? Okay ;o)

What are your views about the project?
The point is cool. And it might be mine. Cheers :oD

Any suggestions?
Make me use the, er, screensaver, to look at what I am doing. Visually. The end result files seem to be quite small (speshly compressed), so realtime view would be cool. As results arrive. Seti only gets my idle cycles just now :o) 3D cards are a plenty. It would be cool if I could choose a spot too.
