Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Life outside Earth is not a possibility, it's just a fact! "The greatest evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence is the fact that they haven't visited us yet" (at least in public).

I think we will discover them in the following 20 years but I'm not so sure whether we are going to make contact or just discover them.

We could benefit from extraterrestrial civilizations because of the advanced technologies and knowlegde they have but it could be hazzardous because they can have a different behavior and they could be more aggresive than we are.

Sending information about earth is a good experiment, but I don't think that it's going to be well understood because extraterrestrials could have different technologies and systems and maybe they have a non-decimal or non-binary systems.

I am running SETI@home because this is the way I can contribute with researchers and enthusiasts in this field. I've been running SETI@home since 1999 using the latest technologies in the x86 architecture.
