Personal background
I am from Arizona, but not originally I don’t think anybody is originally from here. I am 30 years old, married with a kid on the way. I am a lowly repair tech. I repair barcode equipment. It’s dull but it pays well. I am a big gamer, and an avid outdoorsman. I gotta admit though hiking around Phoenix sucks. I used to live in Maui and I really got spoiled. That’s about it I am either on my computer at work or outside.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think ET’s exist. But I don’t think we will discover them I think they will discover us. I think the benefits and dangers of them finding us will be that they will be so scientifically advanced to us. They will teach us many wonderful things and they will also dominate the human race wiyh their superior intelligence and war machines. Maybe for food, or if we are lucky slave labor as they strip our planet of all its resources.
I do think we should transmit a beacon. Some kind of warning, maybe “caution humans are contagious” or “Danger Humans are the most dangerous species ever RUN while you still can”.
I run SETI at home because I think it is a really cool project and a great idea. I have been running SETI as a screen saver for about two years with a really slow PC and I only did like 100 packets. Now I have a really fast PC and I reset my stats so lets see what I do now.
