Profile: Pablo Bellon

Personal background
I'm of mixed heritage, Native American and Euro-American living in Olympia, Washington, USA. I'm blessed with Michelle, my wife, two daughters, Mariah (7) & Yasmine (3), and a new born son, Joaquin, parents Richard and Rio, and 2 sisters, Maya and Monique.

I've always had an affinity for science and astronomy. I enjoy the idea of sharing processing power with the SETI project. I plan to cluster a few more pc's to dedicate to the effort.

It's exciting and... who knows...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes, I believe there is other life in the universe. We will probably first discover microbes from, or existing in, outerspace as the first evidence of this. I hope the planned mission to Europa may turn up more sophisticated life forms however. Benefits or dangers? Well... in the grand scope of things... what do we have to loose? What are we really in control of?

2) We've been transmitting beacons already - Radio, TV, Laser Light, Microwaves, Atomic blasts, et cetera. Some would even suggest more ethereal methods.

3)Why not participate in studying the universe? I'm a definite proponent for the project.

Suggestions? More media involvement to increase awareness and participation in the SETI@home project! Imagine all the processing power sitting idle that could be harnessed?!
