I love the idea that we can reclaim wasted CPU cycles for something worthwhile... like looking for traces of other intelligent life (Although, if they are so intelligent what makes us thing they will want to deal with us.)
I fully believe that if we actually discover other intelligent life out there it would finally lead to peace here, all the nationalists and religious nuts will really have someone new to hate and hopefully they'll leave the rest of us in peace... ;-P
