Profile: Chris Russell

Personal background
Foremost, I am a husband and father, married to a wonderful lady and graded with a beautiful daughter. By trade, I am a engineer and technologist, currently a studio executive within the motion picture industry. I am an MBA student at Pepperdine University, seminary student at Fuller Theological, Elder within the Presbyterian Church, landlord, disaster assistance volunteer, ham radio operator, and medically-trained first responder. And I wish I had more time! For fun, I love family outings and vacations, studying Physics (or anything technical for that matter), rock climbing, hiking, sailing, exploring, and eating. Unfortunately, I can afford to lose a few pounds, so perhaps I should do a bit more hiking and a bit less eating. My nickname is "Gnorizo", which is Koine Greek for "to make known". For more information on health & safety, disaster response, heurmineutics, or other esoteric topics, visit my web site at http://gnorizo.home.attbi.com.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given all we learned in the past few hundred years, that the world is not flat, that we are not the center of the universe, quantum mechanics, cosmology, time and space theory, it is counterintuitive to assume that we must be the only intelligent life in the universe, or even the only universe. It is essental to look outward in continuance of understanding the world we live in, challenging old assumptions and refining new theories. It is equally essential to search before and beyond science, embracing humanity and religion. We are a curious species, as well as compassionate and faithful, and need to equally embrace all that makes us "human". Humanity, science, and religion do not conflict with one another but rather define us.I am confident that we will someday understand the universe, and the world we live in. Fortunately, we live in a complex world, so it may take a while. I wouldn't be much fun to live in a "simple" universe.
