Nothing spectacular to tell, software engineer/manager types, been in the industry for about 10 years now having worked in all sorts of enviornments and places, consulting, product development, wireless and now a/v search.
I like to read, when I can, but mostly its about work, home and family.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I am sure there is extra terrestrial life, and I am sure some, if not all, of them are intelligent too.
My only concern with the project is that it is continuing to focus its efforts in a very narrow band of the electro-magnetic spectrum. Our instruments can now detect information about the state of the universe from the Big Bang to the present day, about stars that exist in gallaxies millions of light-years away. Why limit the search for ET intelligence to a very narrow slice of the electro-magnetic spectrum?
Its a good place to start for sure, searching for patterns in the signals of frequency 1420MHz. However, in my opinion this project should also be looking to develop, or assist in the development of technology to expand the search to look for patterns in other candidate ranges in the electro-magnetic spectrum and beyond to other means. Some civilization somehere could be transmitting data using visible light perhaps thru lasers, or (I am making this up) something more exotic like using WIMPs or if proven to exist, using gravity waves like we use a carrier signal. After all science is all about eliminating conjecture and assumptions in favor of facts and proof (unless you are the Kansas School Board of course, but that's another topic! :)).
