Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think that there are intelligent forms of life other than here on Earth. I hope we can discover them by the use of radio telescopes.
I hope we can benefit by learning from them how to survive and live in peace. If they are like us and attack us and try to slave us, we are going to have to unite quite fast to fight them, that may be a very good thing if we survive. If not, oh well, the way things looked we would have kill ourselves anyway.
The beacons should just say that we would like to contact other civilizations for peaceful encounters.
I like to run SETI at home because I feel I am part of this giant scientific project. I like to help. I think the project is awsome, thank God for the computer scientist that envisioned it. I am glad that I received an e-mail with news about the project. I will like to receive more e-mails in the future and I will like to see new things be posted in the web site. For example what do we know about the "crop circles"? What do we know about recent and past UFO sightings? What other news are there? What do you know about www.motionsciences.com?
