Personal background
Greetings to SETI scientists and staff! I am a 24y.o. psychology(B.Sc.) graduate from Athens, Greece with a keen interest in scientific parapsychology, And of course the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (or the discovery of any life form beyond our humble planetary borders). Concerning the latter, i would not -indeed i Will not be surprised when any general type of 'alien organism' is detected or discovered. When one briefly studies Drake's equation, in my mind it is quite unorthodox for one to come to the conclusion or ascertain a general notion that ET life (not necessarily intelligent) is unlikely. Quite the opposite! But really, SETI scientists know much better about this than i do! Anyways, as a future psychologist i would be very interested to study space psychology, the psychology of space travel. Unfortunately for me, academic studies and research opportunities are very, Very scanty in europe at the moment (and very expensive to attend). I also compose my particular kind of idiosyncratic music (which needless to say, no one really understands, Oops, there goes That attempt to communicate), and was a poet for a number of years as well.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that elementary forms of extraterrestial life exist. I also hold the opinion that it appears highly unlikely that intelligence should confine itself to one small, not very unusual planet among Infinite Space Opportunities!!! (and therefore possibly infinite galaxies, and therefore possibly infinite solar systems, and therefore possibly infinite planets etcetera etcetera. -And who knows what other extremely strange to us environments capable of fostering life and/or intelligent life and/or self-conscious life! -and so on and so forth). Regret to be blabbering, but however similar hundreds and hundreds of messages you must have received, one (and especially this one) cannot really help oneself when envisioning the days when more meaning will flow into our lives by discovering one or some or many of our 'smart outside friends' to play with and learn from. But who really cares what humankind may 'learn' or whatever: the knowledge that we Do have such friends will bring tears to our eyes, and subtle sensitive feeling to our souls and to our soul, as it is now somewhat confused and confined. That mere knowledge is enough, and it transcends all types of profession or whatever. IN ITSELF.
Finally, after my somewhat non-continuous paragraph meanings, i should like to add that i am very proud to be contributing to seti@my home.
MAY WE (or rather should i say YOU) DISCOVER SWIFTLY!!!
