Personal background
I live in Warsaw/Poland, I'm 23 years old and studying Computer Programming.
My hobby is music, also listening and creating own music resources. I'm also interested with astronomical news and discovering space to find out and proove to mankind that we're not alone in the universe.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think of course that we aren't alone in the universe and the time will come when we will discover or/and contact to our neighbourhood in space, but thre's a problem. We aren't ready yet for this... The one thing that we are the best in is war, so the extraterrestrial beings would not to keep the contact with species that are killing theirself without any reason, because I think that a global world problems we can finish with no blood and pain.
2. Sending beacon or some another similar devices to space is in this case only symbolic, cause if extraterrestrials wish to contact with us, they can find us with no problem. Dangerous option is when our beacon will be found by some not-friendly species from the otherside of the galaxy who might be as angry as we are and then they'll get somebody equal to them but more more weak. Then we'll suffer... We always send friendly informations about us into space.
3. I think that SETI has to spread over the whole world and more people should support this project. I think the people should search for extraterrestrial beings at home by an active process. I'd like to have my own antenna processing devices to "hear the space" but it's very expensive even if we talk about the most amators stuff...
